Representatives from both AAFES Strategic Marketing (Ray Lamy and Keith Howell) and DeCA (Antonio Matthias – Fort Belvoir Store Director) will be in the Capital area from Monday 27 September through Friday 1 October 2010 to provide the four major military retirement communities short informational briefings on the most up to date programs at both AAFES and DeCA. The program is designed to increase awareness of events and services reminding our retirees of the benefits, value and buying power that they possess by shopping at their Exchange and Commissary facilities. as well as to engage AAFES / DeCA participation within their living communities.
Our plan is to jointly provide:
· An interesting event that is created and executed by the AAFES Headquarters Strategic Marketing Military Outreach Team along with the DeCA Military Outreach Coordinator, with the attendance and support of the local General Manager and Main Store Manager, as well as the local Commissary Manager.
· An overview of AAFES and DeCA will be provided to the residents of the military retirement community, and can be provided in one or more sessions to maximize participation.
· Local information and services available to the residents will be briefed by the local General Manager and Main Store Manager, as well as the local Commissary Manager.
· AAFES and DeCA will discuss opportunities to explore both the www.aafes.com and DeCA websites and shopping opportunities.
· AAFES and DeCA will also give away two gift baskets and two gift cards at the presentations.
· Most important is the fact that this will provide an opportunity for residents to ask AFFES and DeCA representatives questions and obtain answers in a one on one interaction opportunity.
Presentations will run approximately 45 minutes to one hour, with some additional time for questions and the presentation of gift baskets and gift cards. The event will allow AAFES and DeCA to explore possible areas of opportunity and to schedule future events with the residents in an attempt to provide information and support to the local community on a regular basis in the form of flyers, catalogs, coupons etc.
All community members at large, that areretired military and/or spouses are welcome to attend.
